Brad Pitt goes full-on Obama with choice of new Hydra hideaway: report

The "12 Monkeys" star seemingly chooses blissful isolation while he shoots

Where’s Brad? According to the latest news from Hydra — and the whispers on any Greek island tend to be pretty accurate — an obscure sexagenarian actor named Brad Pitt is holing up at the lovely Bellevalia Hotel in Hydra whilst filming a movie on the popular island.

If true, this would represent a change of scenery from the private villa where he was initially said to be staying.

Yes, as we’ve reported previously, Brad Pitt is making another movie. Let’s just hope it’s not more Netflix-ish slop. We actually think Mr. Pitt would make a fine president or ambassador. Seriously, how many movies can a guy make? Change gears, once young man!

Anyway, Hydra is not big. Pretty small. But Pitt’s choice makes sense, because the Bellevalia is not in Hydra port, the island’s only town and which is usually thronged with tourists and day trippers from Athens. He’s following the Barack Obama model here. When the president visited Athens he stayed at the Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel, which is far from the center of Athens, and he holed up in one of that famous property’s secluded luxe bungalows.

Meanwhile in Hydra, it’s a pretty and meandering 45-minute walk from Hydra Port to the hotel, though perhaps it’s possible to get there by boat, too.

Brad Pitt brings style and class to the island, famous for its starring role in the history of the Greek Revolution. The movie frankly doesn’t sound all that interesting to us, but then neither does the latest hyped up cine-sludge from the likes of Chris Nolan🤷‍♀️ or whatever high-budget dreck finds its way to Apple TV🍎— it’s all just so painfully bourgeois, n’est-ce pas? There hasn’t been anything revolutionary to happen in American cinema since Glitter. Devolutionary, maybe. We’d rather sit around and get drunk in Hydra than have to sit through most of this Hollywood product-junkgunk.

So save us Brad, please! Be inspired by Hydra! Make us proud to be American! Because most of your fellow Yanks are coming up shockingly short these days.
