EXTRA: The skinny on J.Lo's Greek-inspired breakfast bliss
Yog-spiration from her lockdown trip to Crete?
It’s either terribly amusing or massively galling to see how America is becoming more sealed by class division by the day, as The Spectator rightly calls it: you gotta mask up your piehole at a party as prosaic as the Met Gala, unless of course you are Jennifer Lopez, yadda yadda. The same J.Lo who our spies recently saw slinking about the famed Hotel Cipriani in Venice. Officially the Belmond Cipriani. Frankly, we wondered how she does it—private jets, obviously, but also, how in the heck
can you be doing a fashion shoot in a gondola one day, the VMAs the next, then a costume party, fitting in a business shindig for Latina women, countless satortial pivots and ‘gram-thirsty egomaniacal gay stylists with which to contend, and not be constantly chowing down to fuel the fire of all these incredibly important hijinks?
Yogurt, it turns out! Presumably Greek. As Greek Column reported exclusively, last summer when Americans were effectively barred from Europe, J.Lo managed to slip into Crete for a girlfriends’ getaway—the U.S. Embassy refused to comment on just how Lopez was able to skirt the rules but then again, far be it from us to suggest that our government has an alternate set of rules for celebrities! But she did it, and it’s safe to assume that she ate well and in Greece there is no luxury hotel that does not serve wholesome Greek yogurt at breakfast.
Our source at the Cipriani, a hotel with which we have a long and delightfully complicated history (don’t ask, but it involved a gorgeous Italian blond lady, one dark-haired Italian policeman, a stolen suitcase, shaving cream and no video camera ), confirms that during her/their short stay what Bennifer requested most for their/hers morning munchies was “home made granola and yogurt” along with simple stuff like fruits and veggies. Presumably the Italian yogurt was creamier than the Greek variety, but there you have it: no bacon and eggs for our lissome J. Lo.
The same source also confirms that Ben and Jen are “super in love” and were “always hand in hand, beautiful and happy.”
But you know what? Love comes and goes, so si: it must be something in the yogurt.
