Do you get the point? Our snarky headline machine just went into overdrive on account of yet another flake-news item from the lefty Guardian, this time suggesting that the Greek island of Astypalaia is the world’s top destination of 2026 — really?
Tell that to the people of more sophisticated Sifnos, or more sassy Santorini. Tell that to New Yorkers, for that matter, who might have other ideas about what the world’s #1 destination is.🙄🗽
(Guess which island has better hotels — Manhattan or Catalina? There’s more to what makes a destination tops than just some empty beaches and the absence of tour buses, if you catch our drift.)
Not that there’s anything wrong with Astypalaia. But the clickbait-besotted British are out of control, and Ye Olde English listicle machine really ought to be relegated to the digital attic where it, and associated uselessness like Instagram, actually belong.
