There are few cities I like as much as Helsinki. That’s all I really wanted to say.
But I read with some dismay the headline about a breakdown in Helsinki as half the population is reportedly positive for COVID-19—this, as the CDC says that Americans don’t need to take tests even as there were a million cases in the USA the other day. So…
There is something very, very wrong with this picture, and people had better start doing a better job of demanding better from their esteemed “officials” whose staggering incompetence appears to also have “gone viral.” Let’s start with the reality that no one is getting this right, not even in frankly bumbling Israel, that half the bureaucrats ought to be fired (starting in D.C.) and take it from there —shall we?
In the meantime, Helsinki is frosty but also very cool, and you should go there now. Jump on a plane at LAX and you’ll be there a few smooth A350 hours later.
